IALA HERITAGE LIGHTHOUSES
Past and present nominations for IALA Heritage Lighthouse of the Year
The lighthouses in this section are those that have been nominated in recent years for the IALA Heritage Lighthouse of the Year accolade. The data is taken entirely from the submitted nomination form and so has not been checked or verified by IALA. Each lighthouse is an active aid to navigation and is wonderfully unique, but all present significant historical, cultural or architectural value that goes way beyond their function and time. As such, they are the ultimate symbol of aids to navigation and the vital role that these have long played – and continue to play in preserving lives, property, commerce, and the environment.
